    Amtech Announces Order for Bi-facial N-type Technology Turnkey Line

    Amtech Systems, Inc. today announced its solar subsidiary, Tempress Systems, received a follow-on order for the second phase of a multi‑phase 1GW project. This turnkey order for the second phase is similar in size and includes Tempress' high-throughput PECVD and diffusion platforms. The first and second phases of this China project are designed to manufacture n-type bi-facial solar cells and modules at an attractive cost per watt. This repeat order is expected to ship within the next twelve months. Amtech's backlog as of April 25, 2017 is approximately $125 million compared to the December 31, 2016 backlog of $52 million.

    Asunim is Building 2 PV Power Plants Totaling 42MW in Turkey

    Asunim Yenilenebilir Enerji Teknolojileri İnş. Müh. San. Tic. Ltd. Şti. has started construction of two large conglomerate non-licensed photovoltaic power plants for several investors. The systems are in southwestern Turkey's Izmir Province. Asunim gave full support to its customers from day one and obtained preliminary ministry acceptance and go ahead for construction. The systems feature PID free solar modules manufactured by Jinko Solar and REFUsol 40K string inverters.

    SunPower Completes 21 Solar Systems During Earth Week Dedication Events

    Several Macy's, Inc. locations will reveal their solar energy makeovers with SunPower during dedication events at the Macy's Broadway Plaza store in Walnut Creek, Calif.; Bloomingdale's store at The Shops at Chestnut Hill in Chestnut Hill, Mass.; and the Macy's and Bloomingdale's fulfillment center in Joppa, Md. This marks the completion of 21 SunPower® solar energy systems installed this past year at Macy's and Bloomingdale's locations in seven states, totaling 15MW and adding to the nearly 24MW of SunPower solar that have been operating since 2007. Electricity generated by the new solar power systems will ultimately be sold to others.
