    Canadian Solar Expands into Puerto Rico with Planned 26MW PV Installation

    Canadian Solar Inc. today announced the delivery 26MW of its CS6P-P solar power modules to EPC Contractor TSK Solar for the "San Fermin" solar power plant installation in Puerto Rico, co-developed by firms Uriel Renewables inc. and Coqui Power LLC. The solar power plant is located in the North Eastern town of Loiza, a region that regularly faces adverse weather conditions such as hurricanes, tropical storms and flooding. Due to the specific nature of the project and its location, the project's electrical equipment were installed on structures that elevated them two to four meters above ground, and have also been designed to withstand winds of up to 260 kilometers per hour.

    Sumitomo Invests in Desert Sunlight Solar Farm in the U.S.

    Sumitomo Corporation of America (SCOA), together with its parent, Sumitomo Corporation (SC) (collectively Sumitomo), have invested in the Desert Sunlight Solar Farm, a 550-megawatt (MW) solar power project under construction in the California desert, east of Palm Springs. This is Sumitomo's first investment in U.S. solar projects and will expand Sumitomo's renewable energy portfolio, which already includes over 1,800MW in projects across the United States.

    Solectria Renewables Powers the Largest Solar Farm in New England

    JinkoSolar, CJIC to Develop Kenya's Largest Solar Power Plant

    JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. today announced it has signed an cooperative agreement with China Jiangxi Corporation for International Economic & Technical Co, Ltd. ("CJIC") to provide technical support for CJIC's 50MW solar power project development in Kenya. Under the agreement, JinkoSolar is also appointed by CJIC as the preferred module supplier for this project.
